Sunland Park Elementary
School was swarming with C.I.A. Special Agents, all sworn to accomplish
their mission.
No, the Central Intelligence Agency was not involved. But, under the
leadership of Sunland Park's new Principal (a.k.a. Director) Martin
T. Reid, the school is becoming the "Headquarters of the C.I.A" (Committed
to Improving Achievement) for the 2002-03 school year.
All Special Agents (staff members) were welcomed back to Sunland Park
to guide the incoming operatives (students) towards the school-wide
mission -- becoming an "A" school under the Governor's A+
Plan.
On Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. faculty and staff members
were inducted as Special Agents in a formal ceremony at the school.
Sunland Park Elementary is located at 919 Northwest 13th Terrace, Fort
Lauderdale.
After being sworn in by Congressman Alcee Hastings, each staff member
received a badge as well as an official copy of their personal mission
for the 2002/03 school year (grade level assignment). Community leaders,
school officials, and business partners have been invited to attend
the formal ceremony
