Broward’s Teacher of the Year is Hall
of Fame Inductee
Jane Koszoru, Broward’s Teacher of the Year 2004, has been
selected as a member of the 2004 class of inductees to the National
Teachers Hall of Fame. The announcement came Tuesday, April 13 in
a surprise visit and special presentation by Jeanine McKenna, who
is a Board Member of the National Teachers Hall of Fame and President
of the Emporia, Kansas Chamber of Commerce. Koszoru’s formal
induction into the National Teachers Hall of Fame will take place
at an induction banquet in Emporia, Kansas on June 19 and celebration
in Washington, D.C. June 22. Celebrating Teaching Excellence is this
year’s celebration theme.
The Hall of Fame annually honors five
teachers who have demonstrated commitment and dedication to teaching
and the teaching profession. Hall of Fame inductees will receive
a plaque bearing their picture, name and brief description for display
in their school and the Hall of Fame. The award includes a $1,000
scholarship for a student in each inductee’s district who is
planning to pursue a degree in education.
