"Baby Book Buddies” may sound like
a tongue twister, but it is much more at Dillard Elementary School.
Dillard Elementary School, under the direction of Guidance Counselor
Laura Martin, kicked-off its second annual “Baby Book Buddies
Program” with the goal of creating young, pre-school age readers.
Broward Schools’ Superintendent Frank Till,
read books at the school.
Dillard Elementary School is located at 2330 NW 12th Court, Fort
Lauderdale.
The purpose of the program, an expansion of the school’s “Book
Buddies Program,” is to encourage young children, with the
help of a “buddy,” to learn to read and develop an appreciation
of books. Adults, whether parents, grandparents, other family members,
or community members, will be encouraged to be become reading buddies.
