Third Grade FSA Results for English Language Arts Released By State

Today, the Florida Department of Education released third grade results for the Spring 2016 Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) English Language Arts. These results represent the first round of scores to be released by the state. Among the highlights for Broward County Public Schools (BCPS):

    •    55% of BCPS third grade students scored at level 3 or above (grade level proficiency), an increase from 52% in 2015, which was the first year the new FSA was administered.
    •    BCPS third grade students scored above the state average (54%) for the percentage of students scoring at level 3 or above.
    •    BCPS third grade results for students scoring at level 3 or above are the highest among the five largest school districts in the state.
“These results represent the incredible work underway in our schools,” said Superintendent Robert W. Runcie.  “We will continue to provide our teachers, administrators and staff with the support they need to help our students reach their highest potential.”
