Oriole Elementary School Receives Campus Makeover Thanks to Local Business Volunteers

WHAT:
More than 35 volunteers from Appreciation Financial will give the 50-year-old campus of Oriole Elementary School a makeover, following Hurricane Irma.

WHY:
Volunteers from Appreciation Financial will give the 50-year-old campus of Oriole Elementary School a makeover as part of their commitment toward giving back to the community. The makeover project includes landscaping with mulch and new plants to attract butterflies, painting and setting up a school store stocked with small gifts and incentives for the school’s student attendance and good behavior program. Highlights of the makeover project also include the creation of a 26-foot-by-10-foot colorful mural in the school’s cafeteria incorporating the school’s behavior motto, “Orioles S.O.A.R,” designed by local artist David Lavernia, and a surprise scholarship presentation by Appreciation Financial to the school.
