BCPS Students Perform “Love Train” with Tony Award-Winning Actor John Lloyd Young and Black Violin

WHO:                   
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Students from Bethune Elementary School, Lake Forest Elementary School and Walker Elementary School; John Lloyd Young; Kev Marcus and Wil B of Black Violin 
 
WHAT:                 
BCPS students will perform “Love Train” with Tony award-winning actor and singer John Lloyd Young and the classically trained duo Black Violin. The performance will be filmed and debut at the Kennedy Center’s annual Turnaround Arts Talent
Show in March 2018. Following the performance, the musicians of Black Violin will visit Bethune Elementary, using hip hop to help students learn academic material and share visual thinking strategies.

WHY: 
Bethune, Lake Forest and Walker elementary schools are among a small group to be honored as Turnaround Arts schools. The schools integrate arts education to create a well-rounded curriculum where students build confidence, critical thinking
skills and creativity. The artists involved in the program lend their support and encouragement throughout the year.
