Today, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced five Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) high school seniors as National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners. The students are among the 2,500 Merit Scholar designees chosen from a talent pool of more than 15,000 outstanding finalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.

National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners are chosen from the finalists in each state judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies. This is National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s second announcement of winners for the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. On April 20, recipients of corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards were named, and on June 1, 2016, and July 18, 2016, college-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners will be announced.
